This article tries to reveal the identity and activities of Russian governors in Turkestan on the example of the first governor of the Fergana governor's office, M.D Skobelev. The role of the family environment in the development of Skobelev's personality, socio-economic life of his time, ideas and ideologies, education and other factors were analyzed using scientific and popular sources. Skobelev's aggression in Central Asia and the details of his mysterious death are compared.
