THE HISTORICAL ROOTS OF SPIRITUALITY

This article scientifically analyzes the efforts undertaken in Uzbekistan during the years of independence to restore spiritual heritage, particularly focusing on the activities and spiritual significance of Khwaja Alouddin Attar, a prominent representative of the Naqshbandi order in the Surkhandarya region. Based on historical documents, written sources, and materials from scientific conferences, the study highlights the construction of the mausoleum of Khwaja Alouddin Attar in Denov, the local community’s support for this process, and the role of Sufism and religious values in the revival of spiritual traditions. Special emphasis is placed on Khwaja Alouddin Attar’s contribution to preserving the philosophical ideas of Naqshbandi in written form and on Surkhandarya's contribution to world civilization.
