ISSUES OF THE HISTORY OF BUKHARA IN “JOURNEYS OF TURKISTAN” BY ISMAIL GASPRINSKY

The article is devoted to the review of the memoir "Travels of Turkestan" written by Ismail Gasprinsky, one of the figures who had a great influence on the formation of the Jadidist movement in Turkestan, during his trip to Bukhara Emirate in the summer of 1893. This article analyzes Ismail Gasprinsky's views on the cities belonging to the Bukhara Emirate at the end of the 19th century, their socio-economic life, and the education system in madrasahs. In addition, the impressions of Ismail Gasprinsky's conversation with the Bukhara emir and state officials are also reflected.
