ON THE PROCESSES OF POPULATION MIGRATION FROM THE NURATA OASIS TO THE DISTRICTS OF THE SAMARKAND REGION IN THE 1950-1980S

This article presents the author's opinion on the resettlement policy pursued by the Soviet government in Uzbekistan in connection with the development of new lands in the 1950s-1980s. Also, using the example of the Nurata oasis, relying on a number of scientific sources and archival documents, the processes associated with the internal resettlement of the population to the districts of the Samarkand region in the 1950s-80s were examined.
