This article describes the emergence and formation of industrial cities of Tashkent region in the second half of the XX century and the beginning of the XXI century, during the Soviet era. Population dynamics and changes in national composition during this period are analyzed. Features of socio-economic development of industrial cities during the period of independence are covered.
