THE ISSUES OF SEARCHING AND STUDYING ORIENTAL MANUSCRIPTS: IN THE LETTERS OF V.L.VYATKIN TO V.V.BARTHOLD (BASED ON THE FUNDS OF SPF ARAN )

Abstract

The history of Central Asia has always been and remains the focus of attention of both domestic and foreign researchers. In this regard, the study of the scientific heritage of such scientists as V.V.Barthold and V.L.Vyatkin are of great importance. This article presents excerpts from private letters of V.L.Vyatkin to V.V.Barthold, stored in Barthold’s personal collection in St. Petersburg branch of the Archive of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation. Among the many issues discussed between the two scientists, there have been selected those related to the search of new oriental manuscripts in the territory of  Turkestan region. Their study provides additional information to what has so far been studied and published by those researchers who have studied their scientific heritage.
