THE ROLE OF THE MASS MEDIA IN SOCIAL LIFE OF UZBEKISTAN

The article provides information on the role of the media in Uzbekistan. In the years since the Republic gained its independence, radical changes have taken place in all spheres of social development. Today, as we move forward towards a new life and democratic values, we realize that life itself calls for a radical change in some of the relationships that still exist in our society. Historically, it is the creativity and work of our great characters, who have been in every era of those who collect, process and disseminate information, which is the main meaning of the media, and keep the public informed. There fore, today we must build a democratic legal state and civil society, which guarantees our people a free and prosperous life, and prioritizes human rights. The contribution of journalism to the development of our national press and the preservation of national security are covered. It also analyzes journalism's activities in today's types and directions.
