Reproduktiv yoshda qalqonsimon bezning gipofunksiyasi ayolning sog‘lig‘iga va homilador bo‘lish ehtimoliga ta'sir ko‘rsatadi. Gipotireoz hayz sikliga, follikullarning rivojlanishiga, embriogenezga, implantatsiyaga va platsentaning hosil bo‘lishiga ta'sir qiladi. So‘nggi yillarda gipotireoz tuxumdonlar ovarial zaxirasiga ta'sir qilishi mumkinligini ko‘rsatadigan tadqiqotlar o‘tkazilmoqda, chunki ovarial zaxirasi past ayollarda ko‘pincha manifest yoki subklinik gipotireoz tashxisi qo‘yiladi. Gipotireozning ovarial zaxiraga ta'siri borasida bir-biriga zid nashrlar mavjud. Shunday qilib, ushbu prospektiv qiyosiy tadqiqotning asosiy maqsadi gipotireoz va past ovarial zaxira o‘rtasidagi bog‘liqlikni baholash edi.
