Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and acute respiratory infections (ARI) in children. The aim is to improve the diagnosis of CVD involvement in ARI through the use of biomarkers and instrumental methods. A total of 90 children aged 1 to 12 years were examined and divided into main and control groups. Laboratory tests and instrumental diagnostics (ECG, EchoCG) were employed. Children with ARI showed elevated levels of H-FABP, troponin I, CK, CK-MB, LDH, and α-HBDH, indicating myocardial injury and dysfunction. Increased levels of CRP, procalcitonin, and IL-6 were also detected, reflecting an active inflammatory process. These changes were confirmed by ECG and EchoCG data. Cardiovascular-specific enzyme ratios demonstrated high diagnostic value. The results highlight the importance of a comprehensive approach to assessing CVD in ARI for early detection of complications and treatment optimization.
