Abstract

Osteoporosis is a systemic metabolic disease of the skeleton, and is considered a severe pathology of the musculoskeletal system, mainly in the elderly, accompanied by a gradual decrease in mineral density and a sharp violation of the microarchitectonics of bone tissue. As a result of such changes in the bone tissue, osteoporotic fractures of various localization occur even with minimal trauma. Given the direct dependence of bone mineral density on the amount of vitamin D, calcium and magnesium in the blood serum, we studied the amount of vitamin D and these trace elements in the blood plasma of rabbits of the reproductive and post-reproductive period. The results of our studies have shown that the amount of vitamin D, calcium and magnesium in the blood plasma of rabbits of the post-reproductive period is sharply reduced compared to rabbits of the reproductive period. These data indicate a violation of the synthesis of vitamin D, absorption and absorption of calcium and magnesium, which is one of the reasons for the development of senile osteoporosis in rabbits of the post-reproductive period. Violation of the metabolism of substances such as vitamin D, calcium and magnesium in animals in the post-reproductive period is associated with age-related changes in the wall of the organs of the digestive canal at this age.
