Abstract

Hypospadias is a congenital anomaly of the genitourinary system in boys, characterized by an abnormal position of the external opening of the urethra and ventral curvature of the penis. The most complex form is considered to be posterior (scrotal) hypospadias, in which the severity of the pathology is determined not only by the anatomical location of the urethral opening, but also by dysplasia of the ventral triangle of the penis. Objective: The aim of this work is to improve the outcome of surgical treatment of scrotal hypospadias in children. Materials and methods: The study included 21 children with scrotal hypospadias, aged 1 to 16 years, in the period from 2023 to 2025. Results: Complications during buccal urethroplasty were in the form of suture divergence (9%), suture divergence (18.1%) and meatostenosis (9%). Complications during creation of the urethra from the foreskin were in the form of urethral fistula - 22.2%, suture divergence 11.1%, meatostenosis 11.1%. Conclusions: Buccal urethroplasty is considered the most frequently used method of treatment, giving a good cosmetic result in the scrotal form of hypospadias.
