MORPHOLOGICAL CHANGES IN THE KIDNEYS DURING GESTATIONAL PYELONEPHRITIS IN THE SECOND AND THIRD PREGNANCIES

This study investigates the morphological alterations in kidney tissues of women with gestational pyelonephritis during the second and third pregnancies. Histopathological analysis revealed pronounced inflammation in the tubulointerstitial zone, dystrophic and destructive changes in nephrons, and pathological vascular modifications. Acute inflammatory processes were more prevalent during the second pregnancy, whereas the third pregnancy exhibited greater signs of fibrosis and chronic progression. These differential morphological patterns are likely associated with immunological and hormonal shifts specific to each pregnancy stage. The findings underscore the importance of early diagnosis and the development of individualized treatment strategies for gestational pyelonephritis.
