EFFECTIVENESS OF APPLYING THE ACR TI-RADS CLASSIFICATION IN PATIENTS WITH THYROID NODULES FOR FINE-NEEDLE ASPIRATION BIOPSY

Ultrasound-based thyroid nodule risk stratification, such as TIRADS, was introduced to reduce intervention in the “global epidemic” of “overdiagnosis” of thyroid cancer.
Methodology for revealing the research problem. We retrospectively analyzed 157 patients with thyroid nodules. Of the 157 patients, there were 91 men and 66 women. The patients were divided into 4 groups depending on the size and number of nodes.
Research results. .
- Among 157 patients with 269 thyroid nodules, 256 benign nodes and 13 malignant nodes were identified.
- Risk stratification of thyroid nodule malignancy according to ACR-TIRADS is a reliable method for determining indications for TAB.
