ON THE ACTIVITY OF LANGUAGE UNITS IN SPEECH

The article discusses language units and their features and emphasizes the need to distinguish them from each other. In fact, unlike the unit of a language characters, it has both expressive and representative properties and can function as a means of activating the organs of speech in a communicative situation. However, the formation of a sign is based on a phoneme, which is the minimum unit of language. Although phonemes do not make sense individually, morphemes and words serve as raw materials for the formation of even elements of the syntagmatic series. Therefore, the fact that all linguistic and speech units perform a specific function does not require explanation. The article reveals the method of functional analysis in the teachings of the French linguist A. Martin, which reflects the problem of the activation of linguistic units in speech. The article focuses on the role of monema elements in the formation of speech.
