Abstract

Stylistic devices plays crucial role in the literal works so as to be understandable for the readers and be colorful at some point. In Western literature writers used mostly metaphor and simile. Sometimes metaphor is learnt one type of simile in the theory of the literature. So, it is fully understandable that two of them are given to compare two things. In the metaphorical comparison there are not any linking words, but in similes they possess some linking words.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the original and translation versions of “Kutadgu bilig” together in the sphere of stylistic device namely simile. Another purpose is to know whether translators used simile in their works and give some simple conclusions in the end of the research article.
