This study is devoted to the investigation of the contextual analysis of parallel texts in the formation of a translation dictionary related to the political sphere and is aimed at revealing the linguistic, pragmatic, and ideological features of political terms. The main purpose of the research is to analyze the real usage environment of political terms on the basis of parallel corpora and to determine their functional and contextual equivalents in the Uzbek language. For this purpose, the following tasks were identified: (1) to analyze the theoretical foundations of parallel texts and corpus linguistics; (2) to determine the pragmatic and ideological load of terms occurring in political discourse; (3) to comparatively study the contextual equivalents of terms based on English–Uzbek parallel texts; (4) to develop a contextual model for a political translation dictionary. The research employed corpus linguistics, concordance analysis, alignment, Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), and lexico-statistical methods. Political texts from 2023–2026 obtained from the Lex.uz, Kun.uz, and UzA platforms were selected as the research material. The results demonstrated that simple lexical equivalence is not sufficient in translating political terms; rather, it is necessary to take into account context, pragmatic meaning, and ideological load.
