Qandli diabet (QD) aholi, shu jumladan mehnatga layoqatli yoshdagi odamlarda umumiy kasallanish, nogironlik va o'limning asosiy sabablaridan biridir. QDning ijtimoiy ahamiyati uning asoratlari bilan belgilanadi. Diabetik oyoq sindromi (DOS) QD2 bilan og'rigan bemorlarda yuqumli va yallig'lanish kasalliklari orasida alohida o'rin tutadi. Qandli diabet bilan og'rigan bemorlarga ixtisoslashtirilgan tibbiy yordam algoritmlariga ko'ra, diabetik oyoq sindromi periferik asab tizimi, arterial va mikrosirkulyatsion kanallar va oyoqning osteoartikulyar apparatlaridagi patologik o'zgarishlarni o`z ichiga olib, bu esa hayot uchun xavfli holatni tug'dirishi yoki yarali nekrotik jarayonlar va tovon gangrenasi rivojlanishiga olib kelishi mumkin.
