Ushbu maqola ayollar jinsiy yo‘llar mikroflorasi o‘rganilishi tarixiga, tashxis usullariga va qin mikrobiotasi haqidagi zamonaviy tasavvurlarga bag‘ishlangan. Maqolada qin mikroflorasining normal holati, mikrobiotada mavjud mikroorganizm turlari hamda uning buzilishlari — bakterial vaginoz va vaginit kabi holatlar — ta’riflab berilgan. Shuningdek, qin mikrobiotsenozini o‘rganishda qo‘llaniladigan asosiy laborator diagnostika usullari haqida ma’lumotlar umumlashtirilgan. Vaginal biotopni baholashning zamonaviy usullarini yanada optimallashtirish va standartlashtirish zarurligi haqida xulosa chiqarilgan.
