THE ROLE OF MELATONINE IN THE CLINICAL CURRENT OF SON-ASSOCIATED EPILEPSIA
Keywords:
epilepsy associated with sleep, the effect of melatonin on sleep, quality of lifeAbstract
The involvement of melatonin levels in the development of severe epilepsy, insomnia and deterioration in quality of life with diagnostically significant melatonin levels >55 pg/ml is scientifically substantiated. The obtained data were confirmed by correlation analysis and high sensitivity (Sе=91.5%) and specificity (Sp=86.4%), i.e. in 91.5% of cases, positive test results will allow to correctly diagnose the risk of insomnia and deterioration in quality of life. The conducted correlation analysis showed a reliable relationship between the subscales of the QOLIE-31 questionnaire and the degree of daytime sleepiness at rest or during active activity, as well as with the indicators of the subjective characteristics of sleep scale, difficulty maintaining sleep, sleep disturbance and anxiety level.
