OPTIMIZATION OF THE PREVENTION OF CHRONIC PANCREATITIS EXACERBATIONS AMONG THE POPULATION OF FERGANA REGION THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF THE “MEDITERRANEAN DIET”

Abstract

This article presents the results of a scientific study aimed at evaluating the significance and effectiveness of the Mediterranean diet in preventing exacerbations of chronic pancreatitis among the population of Fergana region. Chronic pancreatitis is one of the pressing chronic diseases that leads to pancreatic functional insufficiency, metabolic disorders, and a decline in quality of life. The study scientifically analyzed the metabolic, immunological, and antioxidant effects of nutritional components typical of the Mediterranean diet (polyunsaturated fatty acids, antioxidants, fiber-rich foods, and plant-based products) on pancreatic inflammatory processes. In the group that regularly followed the Mediterranean diet, a decrease in the frequency of exacerbations, a reduction in inflammatory markers, and positive dynamics in overall clinical indicators were observed. The findings suggest that the Mediterranean diet can be recommended as an effective, safe, and environmentally friendly approach for the prevention of chronic pancreatitis exacerbations. This approach has important scientific and practical significance in reducing the prevalence of the disease, optimizing preventive healthcare measures, and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the population of Fergana region.
