EXISTENTIAL AND PHENOMENOLOGICAL INTERPRETATIONS OF GENIUS IN TWENTIETH-CENTURY PHILOSOPHY

ANNOTATION
This article analyzes the concept of genius through the prism of two major philosophical currents of the twentieth century—existentialism and phenomenology. Examining the works of Edmund Husserl, Martin Heidegger, Jean-Paul Sartre, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, and other philosophers, the study demonstrates a profound shift in the understanding of genius: from the romantic notion of an extraordinary individual to an existential project of authentic existence and a phenomenological investigation of creative consciousness. Special attention is given to the relationship of genius with temporality, intentionality, existence, and freedom.
