Language is an inseparable heritage of the people, an attribute of its culture, spirituality and soul. In the historical process, it is through language that regressive or progressive aspects of the being and development of a people or nation manifest themselves. The preservation of the language means the preservation of the nation, national statehood, national spirit and mindset. Otherwise, regressive tendencies are reflected not only in the immaterial spiritual and ideological spheres, but also in the economic and social relations covered by permanent destruction. The central issue of this article is the topic of the identity of the Uzbek language and includes a period that occupies a separate place in our history, when the language and national statehood were linked by mutual patterns, namely, the era associated with the genius of Ali-Shir Nava'i and up to the present in order to answer the question of what evolution occurred during this time. This approach contributes to the understanding of the ideological regularities that have occurred and are continuing in the language policy of the past, present and future of the linguistic identity of the people, the awareness of whose being was formed through language, which is especially important in conditions when the identity of the Uzbek language is experiencing the impact of globalization and various transformations.
