THE EVOLUTION OF METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES IN STUDYING THE PHENOMENON OF MIND MANIPULATION

The phenomenon of mind manipulation has been interpreted from various perspectives within different historical periods and local civilizations, which creates certain methodological challenges in establishing this phenomenon as a category. Based on this, the present article examines the evolution of ideas about the phenomenon of mind manipulation both retrospectively and through the lens of modern concepts. The views on the phenomenon of mind manipulation are analayzed in the context of Western and Eastern civilizationsʼ thought patterns. The article reveals civilizational differences and common aspects in the conceptual understanding of the phenomenon of mind manipulation. Furthermore, special attention is paid to the comparative analysis of socio-political concepts and theories of cultural sociodynamics aimed at uncovering the essence of the mind manipulation phenomenon.
