Abstract

In early Sufi literature, the Sufis viewed sharia and spirituality as an inseparable whole. The Sufis preferred to interpret Sharia with its spiritual aspects and show that Sufism did not go beyond Sunnism. In the early Abbasid period (750-861) the hermeneutic unity between Sufis and jurists was broken. In contrast to the predilection of Muslims, some believers developed a sense of asceticism and asceticism. Islamic law was formed in the process of ensuring unanimity and regulation of the Muslim community in its beliefs, rituals, prayers and relationships. Through him, jurists sought to manage Muslim society under the banner of political power. As for the Sufis, they paid great attention to the process of personal education, transformation of the inner spiritual world, spiritual improvement in matters of worship and soul reading. Sufi authors of the 10th-11th centuries tried to show in their works that their path fully complied with the principles of Sunnism and a certain madhhab. Islamic jurists also complained about the decline of formal jurisprudence and urged jurists to consider the spiritual aspects of matters as well. At the same time, they urged the Sufis to understand the main provisions of fiqh. They believed that jurisprudence and mysticism should complement each other for the good of society. In conclusion, the article proposes to consider Sufism and jurisprudence as interpretations of Islamic law from two different points of view.
