FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE IDEAS OF HERMETICISM

Abstract

The article examines the genesis of the ideas of Hermeticism and their evolution in the period of Antiquity, the Western European Renaissance, the New Time and the age of Enlightenment. At the same time, the ideas of Hermeticism are considered as a separate doctrine that had a significant impact on the development of philosophical and natural science views that were formed during these periods. Analyzing the evolution of the ideas of Hermeticism, the author identifies three stages of their formation (3^rd century BC – 3^rd century AD, when the ancient polytheistic paradigm of philosophical mind comes to a crisis and the monotheistic paradigm of the Middle Ages appears; 15^th – 17^th  centuries, when the theological paradigm of philosophical mind of the Middle Ages comes to a crisis and an experimental-mathematical paradigm of philosophical mind of the New Time appears; the second half of the 19^th century and the first half of the 20^th century, that is, the period of the crisis of the scientistic paradigm of philosophical mind and the emergence of the anti-scientistic paradigm). Special attention is drawn to the fact that the ideas of Hermeticism during the change of these paradigms of philosophical mind performed a transitional function in the social consciousness.
