This article analyzes the etymological foundations of the phenomenon of books and reading, the stages of historical development from a socio-philosophical point of view. The book is the main product that develops simultaneously with the development of society, embodies its achievements and meets the requirements of a certain historical period. As a product, the book is created in the field of material production, and has a material form that is distinguished by the originality and individuality of each element with historical characteristics. They also talked about the reforms being implemented in order to develop book reading and reading culture of the young generation, to raise their intellectual potential and spiritual level.
