FEATURES CHANGES IN THE ORAL CAVITY IN PERSONS WITH DIFFERENT COURSE OF COVID-19

In the oral mucosa, viral infections destroy epithelial cells and cause local inflammatory reactions that usually present with sudden onset. In SARS- CoV-2, epithelial damage is known to cause similar pathogenic features in the tissues of the oral cavity, such as ulcers, erosions, blisters, vesicles, pustules, fissured or depapilled tongue, spot, papule, plaque, pigmentation, bad breath, whitish patches, hemorrhagic crust, necrosis, petechiae, edema, erythema, Kawasaki-type angular cheilitis, atypical Sweet syndrome, and Melkerson-Rosenthal syndrome.
