Summary. Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disease characterized by a decrease in bone mass and a disruption of the microarchitecture of bone tissue, which leads to increased bone fragility and an increased risk of fractures. According to the World Health Organization, osteoporosis affects more than 200 million people worldwide, with every third woman and every fifth man over 50 suffering from this disease. In Uzbekistan, about 4 million people suffer from osteoporosis, which is approximately 3% of the total population.References
