Ushbu maqola Yevropada umurtqa pog‘onasini fiksatsiya qilish usullarining tarixiy rivojiga bag‘ishlangan. Unda Uyg‘onish davridagi traksion va manual repozitsiya bo‘yicha dastlabki urinishlardan tortib, zamonaviy transpedikyulyar stabilizatsiya tizimlarigacha bo‘lgan evolyutsion jarayon yoritiladi. Vidius, Vezaliy va Pare kabi olimlarning umurtqa pog‘onasi anatomiyasi va biomexanikasi bo‘yicha olib borgan ishlari bu yo‘nalishning shakllanishida muhim o‘rin tutgani ta’kidlanadi. XIX asrda qo‘llangan giperekstenzion va gipsli immobilizatsiya usullaridan boshlab, metall konstruksiyalarni joriy etish hamda Denisning “uch kolonka” konsepsiyasining paydo bo‘lishigacha bo‘lgan bosqichlar izchil bayon etiladi. Ayniqsa, Boucher (1959) va Roy-Camille (1961) tomonidan taklif etilgan innovatsion yondashuvlar transpedikyulyar fiksatsiyaning ilmiy asosini yaratgani alohida ko‘rsatiladi. Shuningdek, Luque, Cotrel-Dubousset va Kaneda tizimlarining spina jarrohligi rivojida tutgan o‘rni tahlil etiladi. Maqolada nafaqat texnik yutuqlar, balki bemor xavfsizligi, harakatchanlik va stabilllik o‘rtasidagi optimal muvozanatni topishga qaratilgan jarrohlik falsafasi ham o‘z aksini topgan.
