Abstract

Coordination disorders in sensorineural hearing loss in childhood represent one of the most pressing and complex problems in modern pediatrics, otolaryngology, and neurology. Sensorineural hearing loss is a leading cause of hearing impairment in children, affecting 1-3 children per 1000 newborns in developed countries. According to the World Health Organization, more than 34 million children worldwide suffer from hearing loss, which can lead to disability, and 60% of cases can be prevented. The anatomical and physiological proximity of the auditory and vestibular analyzers, their common embryonic origin from the otic capsule, and the unity of blood supply and innervation determine the close relationship between hearing impairments and movement coordination disorders. The inner ear, which combines the cochlea and vestibular apparatus, represents a single functional system, the damage to which is often complex in nature.
