PREVALENCE AND NEUROLOGICAL FEATURES OF DIABETIC POLYNEUROPATHY IN TYPE 1 DIABETES
Keywords:
type I diabetes, diabetic polyneuropathy, neurological featuresAbstract
The results of analysis show a statistically significant correlation between the NIS LL scores and the duration of the disease; however, no correlation was found between the glycated hemoglobin level and the NIS LL scores. At stages 2 and 3 of DPN, 77.5% of patients had positive neuropathic symptoms according to the TSS scale. Most often, patients complained of numbness in the feet area 28.6%, complaints of pain in the legs were presented in 26.9%, complaints of burning in the feet area - 21.2%, complaints of paresthesia in the feet - 15.8% of patients. In type 1 diabetes, the prevalence of DPN was 68.3%, of which subclinical DPN - in 46.8%, symptomatic DPN - in 22.5%. With a duration of diabetes up to 5 years, symptomatic DP is detected in 6% of patients, with a duration of diabetes from 5 to 10 years in 14.7% of patients, with a duration of diabetes of more than 10 years in 37.8% of patients.
