ANXIETY DISORDERS IN PARKINSON'S DISEASE AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH DEPRESSION
Keywords:

Anxiety disorders are among the most common psychoemotional disorders in Parkinson's disease. The level of anxiety may depend on a number of factors. The оbjective of the study was to investigate the characteristics of anxiety in Parkinson's disease. Materials and methods. The study included 120 patients with various clinical forms and stages of Parkinson's disease. The control group consisted of 30 patients of the same age without PD, but with depression. The average disease duration was 6.3±4.1 years. The Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A) was used to assess anxiety, and the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM-D) was used to assess depression. Results. An analysis of psychoemotional disorders in patients with Parkinson's disease revealed that depressive syndrome is closely associated with anxiety symptoms. The level of personal anxiety was higher in patients with depression, while in patients without depression it was within the average range (p<0.05). This indicates a statistically significant relationship between depression and anxiety disorders. Conclusions. Anxiety symptoms in Parkinson's disease, combined with depression, significantly worsen the clinical condition of patients and significantly reduce their quality of life.
