Abstract

The article discusses modern approaches to diagnostics and targeted therapy in patients with epileptic encephalopathy presenting with continuous spike-wave activity during sleep (DEE-SWAS). Considering the complexity and heterogeneity of clinical manifestations, emphasis is placed on the necessity of a multidisciplinary diagnostic approach, including detailed electroencephalography and comprehensive clinical assessment. Novel methods of targeted therapy aimed at reducing epileptic activity and improving patients’ quality of life are also reviewed. The importance of individualized treatment tailored to the specific characteristics of each patient, as well as the need for interdisciplinary collaboration among specialists, is highlighted to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes in DEE-SWAS. The study results may contribute to improving the diagnostics and treatment of this challenging condition.
