Ushbu maqolada qalqonsimon bez faoliyatining buzilishi bilan bog‘liq kognitiv buzilishlar, xususan gipotireoz holati o‘rganilgan. Tadqiqotda uzoq davom etgan kasallikka ega bo‘lgan 80 nafar ayol ishtirok etgan. Ular ikki guruhga bo‘lingan: autoimmun tireoiditi bo‘lgan bemorlar va to‘liq strumektomiyadan keyingi holatdagi bemorlar. Kognitiv holat Addenbrooke so‘rovnomasi yordamida baholangan. Natijalar shuni ko‘rsatdiki, to‘liq tireoidektomiyadan keyin kognitiv buzilishlar autoimmun gipotireozga ega bemorlarga qaraganda ancha ko‘proq va yaqqol kuzatilgan. Bu holat kuchliroq gormonal disbalans va faqat levotiroksin bilan davolash natijasida miya to‘qimasida T3 darajasining pasayishi bilan bog‘liq. Mualliflar kognitiv buzilishlarni erta aniqlash va gormonal almashtiruvchi terapiyani individual tarzda tanlash orqali bemorlar hayot sifatini yaxshilash zarurligini ta’kidlaydilar.
