HEADACHE AND ITS ASSOCIATION WITH ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION: DIFFERENCES ACROSS CLINICAL GROUPS AND TREATMENT EFFICACY

This study analyzes the levels of anxiety and depression associated with headaches in different clinical groups. The assessment of psycho- emotional states in patients with migraine with aura, migraine without aura, chronic tension-type headache (CTTH), and medication-overuse headache (MOH) was conducted using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). The results indicate that the highest levels of anxiety and depression were observed in patients with CTTH and migraine with aura. Following therapeutic intervention, a statistically significant reduction in anxiety and depression scores was noted across all groups, confirming the efficacy of the applied treatment strategies. The article discusses the diagnostic aspects of anxiety and depression, their association with migraine and other headache disorders, and the effectiveness of treatment approaches.
