METHODS OF FORMATION OF KARAKUL TERMS
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Compound terms predominate in the terminology associated with karakul breeding, constituting its primary constituent. Within the field of linguistics, notable distinctions arise in the processes involved in the formation of lexemes and terms. In the Uzbek standard literary language, lexemes are generated through the application of five distinct methods, while within the realm of karakul terminology, only three methods of term formation are employed. Such observations are equally applicable to the domain of karakul terminology. This particular domain encompasses three categories of compound terms, categorized according to the mode of amalgamation of their constituent elements: defining, indicative, and isomorphic compound terms. The compositional structure of compound terms comprises both simple (comprising two components) and complex (comprising three or more components) terms. The meticulous investigation of the formation process of terminological constituents within complex terms, as employed in the realm of karakul breeding, carries substantial linguistic significance. Within this context, the formation of terminological constituents entails the utilization of adjectives, nouns, and a limited range of adverbs. Over thirty terms, originating from the initial class of adjectives, have been duly considered for the purposes of this analysis. The present article undertakes an examination of terms generated through the application of relative adjectives.
Keywords: simple (two-component), complex (three-component and more) terms defining complex terms, indicative complex terms, isomorphic complex terms.
