In the article, we talk about the periphrasis, its history of study in our linguistics, its role in our language, and its role in making our speech beautiful, unique, and impressive. Periphrasis is a complex phenomenon, and there are many studies on it not only in world linguistics, but also in Uzbek philology. The theoretical aspects of research dedicated to periphrasis in Uzbek linguistics, its connection to phenomena related to periphrasis, its uniqueness in philology, its place in language and speech, in the scientific and theoretical study of periphrasis in world linguistics, a number of extensive studies are being conducted on the ways of their formation, thematic groups, semantic-structural types, typological features of peripheral combinations. n this article, we will consider various types of periphrasis, its artistic possibilities, using the example of Sharof Rashidov's short story “Kashmir Song”.
