As a component of the national language, the language of epics is characterized by an abundance of synonyms and variants. There are, of course, certain reasons for frequent reference to these phenomena in the language in the process of telling a story. This is due to the fact that the elements in the synonym nest do not have exactly the same value according to their semantics, or they differ from a functional and stylistic point of view. Sometimes, in the part of the epic work that is told in a poetic way, the requirements and rules specific to poetry apply, or, at least, the strong influence of slang in the times when the rules of the literary language have not been fixed, on the use of synonyms and variants. it cannot be ignored that it has continuously exerted its influence. That is why epics are a unique window that can clearly demonstrate the richness and semantic-stylistic possibilities of the national language. Let's look at some of the synonyms used by the Islamic poet in the epic "Orzigul". This article discusses the semantic-stylistic features of synonyms used in the language of epics, and in particular, the language of the epic poem "Orzigul" by the Uzbek folk poet Islam is analyzed. In the text of this epic, the meaning of each word in the synonymous line is explained and its stylistic features are described.
