In this article, the author explores the role of abbreviations in the process of forming linguistic trends in the Russian and Uzbek languages in the media. The relevance of the topic is due to the widespread use of abbreviations in the modern language and the need to study their impact on language processes. The study analyzed the use of abbreviations in various types of media and revealed the features of their use in Russian and Uzbek languages. It was found that abbreviations have a significant impact on language trends, since their use leads to an increase in the processes of shortening and simplifying the language. The article also discusses examples of successful and unsuccessful use of abbreviations in the media and provides recommendations on the correct and effective use of abbreviations in the language of the media.
