SOCIAL NETWORK TEXTS AS AN OBJECT OF LINGUISTIC STUDY

Abstract

The article examines social network texts as a new object of research in modern linguistics. These texts are characterized by brevity, immediacy, and the integration of visual and linguistic elements, which distinguish them from traditional norms of written discourse. The study analyzes the sociological roots, historical development, functional features, as well as issues of normativity and usage (usus) of social network texts. Social media discourse is evaluated as an important linguistic phenomenon that reflects contemporary language change, communication culture, and digital literacy.
