EXPLANATION OF TERMINOLOGICAL CONCEPTS RELATED TO ETHNOLINGUISTIC RESEARCH

This article is devoted to reasoning in the field of ethnolinguistics and the interpretation of a number of concepts and terms. The fact that ethnolinguistics is one of the modern trends of linguistics, that the patterns arising as a result of the interconnection of the history, language and culture of the people are the main object of this field, is illuminated on the basis of scientific conclusions of a number of linguists. It has been proven that a number of concepts, such as ethnogenesis, ethnos, ethnoculture, and ethnonym, exist at the terminological level of ethnolinguistics, and that an in-depth study of these terms is necessary for ethnolinguistic research.
The article also contains reflections on the teachings of Franz Boas, who made a significant contribution to the development of ethnolinguistics, and whose theoretical findings have been analyzed.
