LEXICAL-SEMANTIC DESCRIPTION OF THE LEXICAL UNIT “CONTENT” IN ENGLISH

Abstract

ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the linguistic features of language units, which are at the center of linguistics, and their features of expressing emotional states. The author focused on the in-depth study of emotional units in the English language. The research conducted by famous scientists in this regard was reviewed, and their research and opinions expressed within this topic were analyzed.  Various forms of emotion reflected in human feelings are given and their features in the process of verbalization are considered.The most widely used lexical units expressing happiness are listed. The units that show joy, happiness, and high mood are classified separately, and according to the level of expression, they are divided into groups. Their categorization is described in particular on the example of a content unit, and its lexical meanings are examined with the help of an explanatory dictionary of the English language. At the same time, the example sentences in the dictionary were also translated and analyzed separately. The author has selected the sentences of all the categories united under the core of the content from the works written by famous English writers, and their translation, their place in the sentence, and their meaning in the context have been recorded.
