Abstract

In this article, the author highlights the role of the natural irrigation network in the formation of the settled agricultural way of life of the ancient Shash. Reveals the processes of mutual influence of the Chust, Tazabagyab or Andronovo cultures on the Tashkent oasis based on the shapes and sizes of the structures of ancient dwellings. Highlights the main features of the Burgulyuk culture in the construction traditions of the ancient society of Tashkent. It is suggested that the small number of hearths in the Burgulyuk settlements is associated with the special functional purpose of the dwellings – that is kitchens or early “house sanctuaries”. Discusses the importance of water resources in the region in the development of an integrated economy based on agriculture and pastoralism.
