GASTROPATHY CAUSED BY NON-STEROIDAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DRUGS: ETIOPATHOGENETIC FACTORS AND MECHANISMS

Non –steroid anti – inflammatory drugs (NSAID) are the most popular agents for treatment of a number of a diseases; howover,they may induse serious complication in the gastrointestinal tract. The risk factors being taken into account, prescription of the more safety NSAID allow reduction of the complication frequency in the gastrointestinal tract. During prescription of NSAID and antiaggregants the physician should make comparison between risk and profit of the therapy. It is necessary to remember that any NSAID and other antiaggregants increase risk of erosive- ulcerous damages of the gastrointestinal tract as well as possibility of the occurrence of the ulcer hemorrhages and perforations. The common sense and individual approach to the patient remain to be key factors during choice of the NSAID for therapy
