Abstract

The study included 55 children with exogenous-constitutional obesity and arterial hypertension. The main risk factors for the development of arterial hypertension in childhood obesity were identified. The most significant risk factor for abdominal obesity in children was found to be a hereditary predisposition, primarily maternal. A combination of a family history of hypertension and diabetes mellitus, physical inactivity, and high-calorie diets is also significant. Puberty, characterized by hormonal changes and metabolic changes, has a significant impact. Prevention of these conditions should focus on a balanced diet, increased physical activity, and educating parents about healthy lifestyles.
