This article examines the characteristics and development of free economic zones (SEZs) within the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Comprising eight member states, the SCO has witnessed the establishment and development of various SEZs aimed at promoting economic growth, facilitating trade and attracting investment. This study examines the characteristics and development of SEZs in member countries such as Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan. It assesses the unique incentives, regulatory frameworks and strategic initiatives used to promote the development of these zones.
