Abstract

The technique of thyroidectomy is well studied, but there is no step-by-step algorithm for surgery. Purpose:  Thyroidectomy technique optimization. Materials and methods: We studied 177 patients operated for thyroid diseases. Patients for surgery were prepared according to generally accepted recommendations. Results: The outcomes of surgery were analyzed. Temporary recurrent laryngeal nerve paresis was observed in 2 patients (1.1%), temporary hypocalcemia was observed in 37 patients (20.9%), which was completely relieved within 7 days after the prescription of drugs and resistance D. Postoperative bleeding was observed in one patient (0. 6%). Conclusions: Our proposed standardized stepwise approach to thyroidectomy is an effective treatment method.
