MEDICAL TACTICS FOR CAVERNOUS SINUS THROMBOSIS IN PATIENTS WITH COVID-19

Abstract

A review of the literature shows that, based on the results of long-term observations, there are no scientific studies of the level of survival, quality of life of patients after enucleation with cavernous sinus thrombosis. We also see that there are almost no articles on the practice of ocular enucleation for SARS-CoV-2 cavernous sinus thrombosis in research databases such as PubMed, EMBASE Medline, ResearchIndex, Cochrane, Springer, Elsevier. Available articles are presented in the form of a small number of clinical observations and case histories. The progressive increase in the number of cases of cavernous sinus thrombosis in our country during the COVID-19 pandemic affected not only the type of surgical intervention in ophthalmology, but also its volume. This article deals with recommendations and contraindications for the practice of enucleation surgery and postoperative survival of patients.
