MORPHOLOGICAL CRITERIA OF BIOLOGICAL BEHAVIOR OF DESMOID TUMORS IN PEDIATRIC PRACTICE
Keywords:
desmoid tumors, children, morphology, CTNNB1, Ki-67, prognosis, treatmentAbstract
This review article examines the morphological features of desmoid tumors in children and their relevance in predicting clinical outcomes. A correlation has been established between cellularity, Ki-67 proliferation index, degree of collagenization, and the risk of local recurrence. Particular emphasis is placed on the S45F mutation of the CTNNB1 gene as an unfavorable prognostic factor. The need for standardization of morphological criteria and implementation of a multidisciplinary approach to treatment is substantiated.
