Thermal injuries represent a serious medical, social, and economic problem. The increase in the number of burns is associated with the development of heavy and chemical industries, as well as the widespread use of electricity in households and industrial settings. Burn trauma is one of the most common causes of traumatic injuries, second only to traffic-related injuries in terms of mortality.
